The million dollar home is kind of a benchmark. It’s a point of comparison.
A million dollar home isn’t what a million dollar home used to be – that’s for sure. Just ask Dr. Evil. The characteristics of the million dollar home also varies depending on where you are in the country. CNN Money has a slide show on what a million dollars will get you in different parts of the country. Here are a few that caught my attention:
- In New Jersey you can get a 5000 sq. ft 4 bedroom 4 bath Victorian home ($206/sq. ft)
- In North Carolina you can get a 6,300 sq. ft 5 bedroom 4 bath English basement home ($359 sq. ft)
- In Philadelphia you can get a 2,200 sq. ft 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home near downtown Philly ($455/sq. ft)
I’d be curious what you could get for a million dollars where you live! Send me some photos and a description and I’ll feature them on this blog.
